Dive deep into the development of new nursery, bioenergy, and specialty crops!

Spend a transformative year in Mills River, NC, assisting faculty and staff  at the MCIL.
Responsibilities include assisting the team with:

•Plant breeding and development: setting up and performing pollinations in diverse crops
•Plant production: collecting and sowing seed, transplanting seedlings, maintaining breeding and production container operations, taking cuttings, etc.
•Field Trials: trial maintenance, data collection, etc.
•Plant tissue culture, flow cytometry and cytology
•Participating in horticultural research: manage an independent research project
•Attend field trips and relevant conferences.

We are looking for a motivated individual with passion and enthusiasm for plants, horticulture, and scientific research. Applicants must have a B.S. degree from a plant science program. Position is located at Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center in Mills River, NC.  $16-18/hr. On-site housing is possible.
